Winning awards and accolades isn’t what drives us, but marking milestone moments and gaining recognition for our accomplishments speaks to our culture: a unique combination of innovation, steadfastness and the pursuit of excellence in all we do. In 2023, our businesses and brands were praised for their superior service, insights and content. We celebrated colleagues for their outstanding work, and we honored others too — from Oprah’s Book Club’s 100th pick to the products (and person!) who received the Good Housekeeping Seal.

It's been more than 26 years since Oprah introduced her book club to encourage reading and connecting over great stories, and in March, the landmark 100th pick was revealed: “Hello Beautiful” by Ann Napolitano.

ELLE was named Magazine of the Year at the Daily Front Row Fashion Media Awards. Editor-in-Chief Nina Garcia accepted the award, saying, “A magazine is really not about one person — it really is about the team. Every day we get the chance to create something beautiful and meaningful, the way we get to immerse ourselves in the magic that is this fashion industry.”

90 Years of Esquire

Esquire celebrated its anniversary with The Next 90 — highlighting 90 people and ideas shaping the future, from Post Malone and his genre-bending music to Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes' generation-defining skills on the field.

Zynx was recognized by KLAS Research for the third consecutive year as Best in KLAS in the Clinical Decision Support: Care Plans & Order Sets category.

In honor of the Good Housekeeping Seal’s 115th anniversary in 2024, the brand renewed Dolly Parton’s personal Seal, which she earned in 2001, and awarded the Seal to her new album, Rockstar.

Hearst Connecticut Media Group won more than 100 Connecticut Society of Professional Journalists awards, including first place in the feature photo category for capturing the colorful festivities at Greenwich’s HoliFest at the India Cultural Center.

ACE & BEST Awards

Celebrating ACEs and the BEST: In July, Fitch Ratings honored its Analytical and Business & Relationship Management teams at a gala in New York for the winners of the ACE (Analytical Contribution and Excellence) and BEST (Business Excellence and Strategic Thinking) awards.

The San Francisco Chronicle and Houston Chronicle were 2023 Pulitzer Prize finalists in Investigative Reporting and Editorial Writing, respectively.

At the Telly Awards, Hearst Media Production Group was named Telly Company of the Year, Noregon was awarded two Silver Tellys for non-broadcast branding, KCRA-TV received two Silver Tellys for video journalism and long-form documentary and ESPN won awards in sports and editing.

In March, WBAL-TV celebrated 75 years of informing and serving the Baltimore community with colleagues; past WBAL-TV general managers and Hearst Television presidents David Barrett and Jordan Wertlieb; Congressman Kweisi Mfume (D-MD); Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott and a TV-inspired cake.
