AI was the big story of 2023, and Hearst is riding the wave with the release of its own HearstChat, Fitch’s support bot Kai and Hearst Newspapers’ Producer P, its first AI-powered newsroom tool. And, of course, Hearst Tech chatbot Herbie has been making our lives easier since 2019!

In November, Hearst Newspapers acquired Puzzmo developed by founders Zach Gage and Orta Therox, Puzzmo.com is the home of Gage's award-winning games catalog, including Apple Arcade mainstays like SpellTower and new and exclusive releases like FlipArt and Wordbind. Puzzmo connects each game and every player with a unified system of points, achievements, social connections and multi-player modes never before seen in the puzzle games category.

In December, Hearst Newspapers announced expansion in Texas with the acquisition of San Antonio Magazine. “We are thrilled to bring San Antonio Magazine into our portfolio of brands, serving lifestyle readers and local [Texas] advertisers,” San Antonio Express-News Publisher Mark Medici said at the time of the announcement.

The Council of Black Leaders in Finance hosted its annual Signature Event at Hearst Tower, welcoming more than 200 finance leaders, representing over 100 firms in celebration of diversity and Black contributions to finance. The Keynote Speaker was Thasunda Brown Duckett, president and CEO of TIAA.
